Revlon has introduced some really interesting nail art products in recent times. I covered their Revlon Nail Art Moon Candy in an earlier post. There were these nail strips among the new launch that look like nail stickers but are made of nail paint. Personally I don’t like the sticker format much but am a big fan of the nail strips especially after using the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Nail Polish Strip in Kitty Kitty. They feel much more comfortable on the nails but can be a bit of a hassle to apply. 

 

 

 

     The pack contains 16 strips and the sizes vary quite a bit. I think they intend that the pack can be used both on the hands and/or feet. Sally Hansen ones were meant for the hands and they later introduced a version for the toes. I think it would have been better off if Revlon had just intended it for the hands and gives 20 strips so that you could get a min. of 2 uses per pack. Right now it just hangs in the middle after doing one round on both hands. 

 

 

     There is a buffer and orange/cuticle stick included in the pack. The idea is that you first measure and see which strip is covering your nail perfectly. Then peel of the transparent paper and the backing to apply on the nail. Buff off the excess protruding from the nail with the buffer provided. Sounds easy-peasy doesn’t it? Wrong!

 

 

     Ok if you have long nails then it is not that much of a hassle. Meaning that one strip can cover only one nail as they intend you to do. But for me one strip can cover 2 nails and honestly I didn’t see any logic for wasting the product for any reason. But if you don’t want the headache then you are good to go. I get mulish over wasting things so I took on some extra headache but covered 2 nails with one strip. It becomes quite a juggle especially since both the cover and backing paper are removed.

 

 

     But with some forceps and patience it is achievable. Once you cover your nails adequately with the strip press and smooth it out a bit. Press the tips of the nail in a downward motion. The tell you use the lightest pink color to buff the tips and remove the excess product but I found that this took time plus ruined the tips due to the amount of movement it took to achieve the task. It is much better and faster to use the dark pink side and one-two swipes gets the job done without causing harm to the design.

 

 

     For me these frayed on the tips by the third day and peeled in chunks by the 5th. Sally Hansen ones claim that they last for 10 days but they last for about 7 days. Being made of polish these are quite easy to take off. Apart from the getting on part I liked how they looked and for how long they fared. There are many designs available from print like to glitter ones. And they are quite affordable at 300 bucks. Sally ones cost almost double these. 

 

 

     Sorry for the dark looking final pics. It was early evening when I was taking the pics and by the time I had finished putting these on all my fingers the sun had set. Had to make do with the artificial light. The edges are looking uneven as I just put it on. I cleaned them up the next day with a q-tip dipped in some remover. Plus some of them had frayed due to the man-handling I put them through 😛

 

 

     Overall I find these decent especially for the price they are marked at. Not bad for people who want to try out nail art but have neither the patience, time nor skill for it (like me). I bought a glitter version too which I will review soon. So how did you find them? Will you be picking any up? If you already have then which one did you get and how did you find it?
