Love Scotch As A Gift
Finding the right gift for someone, whether it is for someone dear or even a professional client that you want to build relations with, can be a daunting task. I’m someone who usually doesn’t stress too much when it comes to giving gifts as a lot of people I know do. But a huge disadvantage to that fact is, more often than not, my gifts tend to become impersonal. I really dont like that whole ‘second-guessing-and-then-stressing-over-it” aspect of the process. But when it comes to finding the right gift for a man without going the whole pens and shirts route…I will admit that I have been stumped! At the recent Love Scotch As A Gift event, when the host Anuradha Menon spoke about finding gifts for the men in her life and the trials/ tribulations involved in it…the entire audience was nodding their heads hearing her stories while laughing, in what I would interpret as embarrassment, as they probably recalled their own adventures.
Chitrangda Singh and Shibani Dandekar came on stage next to share their gifting stories and also shared some tips that have worked for them over time. Both agreed that the scotch makes for the perfect gift as it is both personal and classy. Also it gives the immense advantage that it makes for the perfect gift both for men and women. Chitrangda favors VAT 69 as it holds a lot of memories for her growing up as an army kid. Shibani loves to share her Black & White with friends…she associates it to that warm cozy feel that you get when you are in your favorite company. Whiskey has long been considered as a men’s domain but they were quick to dispel that notion. The evening came to an end with the unveiling of the Scotch Whiskey Collection by United Spirits.
So what makes for the perfect gift? Some of the key points to keep in mind would be that it should be personal, appealing to the gender of the receiver, classy, usable/beneficial and it should preferably be able to evoke some kind of emotional memory. Tall order you say? But doesn’t a bottle of scotch address it all? Well your gifting dilemma is now solved! You are welcome 🙂
