Shikha Says:
Whaz up me beauties??!! I know I’m going all 90’s at ya but I don’t care :D…I got my wish fulfilled all thanks to a friend and I was so happy about it (happy dancing in my head – dhin chuk, dhin chuk, dhin chuk)…. I’m a complete couch potato and have been hooked to a lot if serials on telly (yes I am THAT kinda person). But I must say that I have tried and broken this habit of mine coz I realized I was getting obsessive about these fictional people and that was just not right.

So when my friend mentioned he got an invite to the Indian Television Awards I was literally salivating and screaming at him that I wanted to go!!! He was kind enough to get me a pass and I got to the attend an event that I wished I could attend every time I catch it on telly. I know some of you might be thinking why this chick gone all psycho and what is the big deal…..I just want to say that it was for me and I got to see a lot of the faces that we get to see on TV everyday….it was so nice to see so many of them in the flesh. And I saw my fav one like a few feet away *sigh*…..

I got my hair and makeup done from the Jean Claude Biguine parlor in Bandra from the visiting French artists….I loved what they gave me but the poor management quality of the salon was a complete turn off….they had no clue about the kind of service I had booked and I was left waiting in the middle when the artist went to attend his other appointment (the makeup was given by a lady and a guy did my hair). And to top that no one around was willing to help to speed the process up….I have never seen such behavior in any salon where who ever was asked to help just refused stating some issue or the other. Even handing out pins was being treated like such a favor.

I was so put off and depressed that I missed my event coz I had to leave the parlor by 5 and even till 7 I was not done….I don’t blame the artists at all but I will say the running of that place sucks big time. Even telling them repeatedly that I was getting late they were not doing anything to help. Seriously unprofessional behavior. The only reason I will ever return to that place will be do get my makeup done from the French lady coz she was amazing. If you have an event and are looking to avail their service make sure that you book it much ahead in time and ensure a couple of times that they are making the right booking for you. By sheer luck I missed a very small part of the event which started later than the scheduled time.

I really hate to rant about anything like this but they seriously pissed me off….But what is done is done…..just wanted to give you guys a heads up so that you didn’t have to face what I did. So enough of that and lets move on to the haul!!! I was all like yea Im gonna pic up the pieces that I missed from the Archies collection back home but struck out again. I really wanted to pick up the Pearlmate face powder but it seems that it didnt make its way to Mumbai either. I asked at the Palladium and the Juhu Pro store but they didnt have it. I swatched the Ronnie red lippy but passed it as I felt I had similar shades and the Daddy’s Girl one was too purple for me.

Mac Concealer, Paint pot and liner pencil

Clinique Chubby Sticks

But I did pick some other pieces from MAC – Paint pot in Groundwork (the MUA had used this on me), Pro longwear concealer in NC 42 and Pearlglide Intense eyeliner in Black Line. I bought 2 chubby sticks from Clinique (all thanks to Ankita)  – Chunky Cherry and Plushest Plum (this is an intense shade). I even picked up some of my first products from YSL – Touche Eclat in shade 4.5 and Glossy stains in Rose Tempura and Fuchsia Dore. Apart from this I picked up the Kiehl’s BB cream in the shade Natural. Got a few samples from these brands too.

Kiehls BB cream

So all those will be coming up in future posts. Do stay tuned if anything caught your fancy.  Btw did any of you have a similar experience at Jean Claude or any other place. I was very surprised coz I knew that it was a swanky place and all….So was it just me or are they like that? I did get a pedi done from their Palladium outlet and I’m very sure that the guy didn’t put any mask on my feet even though it was included in the treatment. I had asked him and he said that he will put it on after the paraffin and when I asked him later he was like I already applied it….Honestly I was sort of confused and was left wondering that was my memory giving me the slip again….But I think he pulled a fast one on me….And after the Bandra behavior I’m positive now.

Samples from Kiehls and YSL
Lol! Misspelled Kiehls 😀

Ugh! so sickening when something like this is done and that to by such a well known and swanky place….Again did anyone else experience this or was it just me?? Waiting for your reply….See you guys around…Bye!

Note: I got a call from the salon manager. He apologized for the experience I went through and assured me that changes have been bought in and action has been taken especially at the front desk that caused the mess in the first place. I told him that the artists were fantastic and I had no complaint against them but the general attitude was a big issue. He assured me that things were being looked into and such thing would not happen the next time. I hope that is so and the next person who visits them gets a different experience all together.
