Nails Inc. Foil Nail Paint Kings Road

One of the top most things in my shopping list for Singapore was to get my hands on as many nail paints as I could get! Acquiring makeup and such is still relatively easy these days but getting sites to ship you nail polishes is a major pain in the a$$! I really wanted to get some of the newly launched Sephora nail paints but unfortunately the store I went to was not carrying any…imagine that 🙁 But that is not to say that I didn’t manage to get a few. Nails Inc. does some wonderfully innovative stuff. I wanted to get these foil finish nail paints since some time especially those mirror like finish ones. Still searching for those but in the meantime lets take a look at these ones…

What The Brand Says About It

“Foil effect polish has been created using a brand new professional formulation that allows the foil pigment to be applied flawlessly. Use your Foil effect polish to create a chic metallic effect that mimics a nail transfer rather than a polish.”

Packing

They come in a thick cylindrical bottle where the caps are given the supposed texture of the nail paint. So this one has a silver metal finish to it. The brush is standard as you can see in most of the nail paint. The bottle is travel friendly in the sense that it is spill proof though slightly bulky to carry along.

Texture

The paint itself is quite thin and you have ridges/lines on your nails then they get highlighted due to it. Something that I didn’t like in it. You can try it over one of those ridge filler base coats. You get an opaque finish with one coat but for a nicer finish and evenness two coats are recommended. I got slight fraying on the tips by the end of the first day and noticeable fraying at the tips and base of nails by the second day aka time to redo them.

Pigmentation

Slight pink toned silver metallic shade. It does give the promised metal finish but it does not give the flawlessness of a transfer. The latter can provide a mirror like finish but this falls short of that. Good for metallic looking nails but do not read too much into it. The appearance of the lines and ridges on its surface further mars the end product.

Overall I was not very happy with it. Even if I keep my ridges problem to the side the mere fact that it lasts for such a short time on the nails is a major turn off. And to think that I paid SGD 22/- (Rs. 1100/- approx) for it furthers my feelings of dissatisfaction. I have a polish or two from the same brand and I hope they fare better for me. Have any of you tried this brand or nail paint? What are your thoughts on it? Catch you soon ladies!
