     The first time I heard the saying “Love is in the details” was on the Oprah show. The concepts, products and gift ideas that she would present would all be beautiful down to its minutest part. It would amaze me to no end that how much effort one was willing to put into the smallest of things something a person like me who is always about the big picture would fail to comprehend. But even I will admit that they would make a huge impact aesthetically. Being able to change my outlook and actually notice something like that made me understand what Oprah meant. When it comes to expressing their love people want to shout it from the rooftops and don’t want to leave any stone un-turned. How can anyone take a back seat when it comes to their biggest day then aka their wedding! Well good news for all the Kolkata folks, Ravish Kapoor has finally set up shop here to help you express your joy in the grandest of styles.

     I was invited to the opening of the store by the PR. Neha Dhupia was going to do the honors for it. She sat their gracefully outside for the media people dressed in a lovely monochrome outfit accented with a touch of red and some lovely jewels. I really liked the fact that she was so poised and knowledgeable about the current trends and social media going on’s (she mentioned that she followed a lot of fashion blogs to keep updated). It was very refreshing hearing her speak about things. After the ribbon cutting ceremony we all stepped in the store and I will say I was blown away. They have done a beautiful job giving the place a luxury feel. The boxes and cards are put on display on pedestals and shelves on the walls of the store. There is a huge mirror on one side with a sofa and coffee table in front of it. The walls and ceiling is lined with cream and gold wall paper. Might sound cliche but it feels like you are in good hands when you step in.

     I have mentioned it before that I used to do chocolate making earlier and that time that I spent made me realize the importance of beautiful packing. Not only did I have to study and research about my own processes but had to learn about packing and presentation a lot. The work that I saw at Ravish’s store were works of art! A wide assortment of materials and sizes were present. From the usual cardboard ones (albeit fancy) there were even wooden boxes which would make a great keepsake for anyone. There was one in the shape of small trunk! With gold leaves and sarawoski crystals, from deep hues to bright patterns there is something for every taste and budget. Predominately I saw marriage related ones but there some really cute kids themed ones which could be used for baby showers and birthday parties. Truly one of a kind and innovative invitations!
