Back with another piece from the newly launched MAC Temperature Rising collection. I had pre-booked this lipstick with them as I read on a number of International blogs how it was the hottest selling shade from the collection. Caliente is a Spanish word and its literal translation is ‘hot’ (albeit here it means the naughty kind).
There is something just so classy and attractive about the packing of this collection. The play of color and texture just captures you on some level. The lipstick comes in the standard bullet packing but the color is a copper tone and the texture is soft matte. The finish is dazzle which is something new that I have seen from this brand. I know they have a dazzle glass range in the glosses. Since it contains a whole lot of glitter I can understand where the name comes from.
The color is quite unique. The base color is brown and it is full of pink shimmer particles as well as a pinkish sheen. The texture is neither moisturizing nor drying. But for dry lip people it would be good if you apply a coat of balm first. The product is quite pigmented and hides any discoloration of the lips. It does have a tendency to sit in the lines.

(PS – For some reason the camera just does not capture the true color of the thing. In all the swatches it looks red but in truth it is a brown lippy with the layer of pink shimmer on top and whole effect is very 3D. I saw a lot of swatches on international blogs and it looks the same in all of them but not one true to the actual thing.)

There is so much shimmer in the thing….oh my! But it gives it a very interesting look. This is not for the faint of heart and even for someone like me who likes the glitter this is a little hot to handle. But for someone who can pull it off this is super gorgeous especially cause of its uniqueness. Ideal for evening or special occasion wear. In the kiss test, the base color completely vanishes by the 4-5th kiss but the lips are left covered with the pink glitter which sit in the lines. Even till the 10th kiss they are left holding on for dear life!

Caliente is truly a bold shade and it will ensure that you will leave your mark behind. A mark that one would not forget easily (or get rid off – if you know what I mean 😉 ). So do you think you can handle this shade? Or is it too much for you?

Would you purchase MAC Temperature Rising Lipstick Caliente again? – It is a LE product. But no I would not.
Would you recommend MAC Temperature Rising Lipstick Caliente to your friend? – It depends honestly. One of my friends tried it at the store and it looked quite nice on her but she was absolutely glitter averse.
