Today I will talk about one of my personal favorite product – the lipgloss. I was especially excited with these dazzle glass from MAC Temperature Rising collection as they combine lipgloss with shimmer….Can I just say….love! I’m going to go all Joey on you from an episodes on Friends where Rachel makes the trifle with meat and everyone has to chow it down. So….whats not to like? Lipgloss – Good! Shimmer – Good! Lipgloss with shimmer – Gooooddd!

Jokes apart I was sure that these babies will look excellent paired with lipsticks and add that dash of oomph to a shade. So you know what that means….more pins to the exciting lippy boards on Pinterest for the ongoing The Pairing Project. Incidentally there wont be any board for the Caliente lipstick as it didn’t make sense to me since the camera is not capturing the true color/nature of the product anyways.

Onward to the lipglass. These come in a tube format with a doe foot applicator. Good part of the body is transparent and you can see the color of the product whereas the cap is the signature for this collection ie copper with soft matte touch. The gloss is slightly thick in nature but does not feel sticky at all. But you can feel a coat on your lips. Being a gloss they don’t survive for long and the color goes away by the 4th kiss in the Kiss Test and your lips are left coated with the glitter. Which tends to get around and spread in your face especially when the color has been stripped. So those were the basic qualities of the gloss. Lets look into the colors in detail.

Soft Serenade

Like the name this shade is a delicate color. Meant to add innocence and lightness. Ok I’m just emoting my personal take there 😛 The base is a soft peach color and it is filled with silver and peach shimmer. The silver adds the jazz and the peach ones add the dimension. It does not provide any coverage but helps to add a glaze and slight bling to your lips. Looks fab with a dark smokey eye and you can see it in my pic in the Ripe for Love post. The texture of this is slightly different…though it goes on thickly you cant fell it on your lips. I would totally wear this in this in the day with heavy lined cat eyes as that is my usual look but that is just me.

I bought this one coz it looks so pretty in the tube…honestly I was worried that I  picked up such a purple looking color and since blue toned shades tend to not suit me I was sure that I probably made a wrong choice and would regret it. Surprisingly the color is not as daunting on as it looks in the tube. On my lips it looks more pink though the hints of blue can be made out but it is not offending. Looking at the hand swatch I will call it a slight blue toned pink color with pink shimmer in it. The cam managed to pick the small amount of blue glitter in the thing which the n*ked eye does not detect. The color does offer slight coverage and what I like about it is that you can build it from a light wash to something a little more pronounced. This one you can feel it on.

I’m sure you will be anything but under dressed if you have this one on. Such a rich beautiful color in the tube….rich copper color with purple and gold shimmer in it. On the hand you get a light sheer brown shade and on the lips the color is a mere tint with the gold shimmer in focus with some of the purple twinkling here or there. This one feels sticky on the lips albeit slightly. It does not provide coverage but the looks don’t look devoid of color either. You cant build up the base color tone much rather layering adds more shimmer to it. I think is perfect for occasion wear as it is quite glamorous. I think this will look fantastic layered over lipsticks.

So those were my picks from the collection. As you can see I got 3 out of the 4 that were launched (didn’t get the last one as it felt too sedate to me and quite regular). These are not meant for regular wear or for the faint of heart. But by using them as top coats on your lippies I’m sure you can create magic with these. Which ones would you pick?

Would you purchase MAC Temperature Rising Lipglass again? They are LE products. But I would not mine purchasing them again especially Soft Serenade.

Would you recommend MAC Temperature Rising Lipglass to your friend? – Depends how glitter phobic they are. Otherwise yes I would.
