A few days back I shared the info on the blog’s FB page that another player has entered the beauty box market in India. That makes a total of 3 players to my knowledge. My Envy Box is a Indo-France tie up and is by invitation only. You need to put yourself on the waiting list and they will get back to you if you get a box allotted to you. I paid Rs. 850/- for mine this month and they say that their boxes range from 700-850. I don’t know how that works and since they have just started things will become clear as time progresses. 

     They had an interesting mix of brands which caused me to subscribe to them in the first place. French brands liked Clarins, Thalgo, L’occaitaine, etc. will find their way to you each month. They send 5 samples and most of them are deluxe ones this month. Though compared to the other players they have a higher price point but given the brands on offer I don’t mind it one bit. The box itself is really great with a bright color catching your eye from the word go. It is sturdy in nature and has a magnetic flap. 

     They enclosed an introductory letter and 5 info cards for the products. There were no discount coupons included but you earn envy points with each purchase which can get you discounts on their online shop. Plus 25% of the price of this box becomes a part of your envy points so that means I got Rs. 213 worth of points making the price of my box around Rs. 637/-. And for every Rs. 100 you spend in their shop you Rs. 5 worth of points. I got the box today so have not tried any of the stuff yet and will be posting detailed reviews for each in the Sample Corner segment. There was only skincare this time around and I hope as time progresses the other boxes bring in makeup, fragrance, etc. There is a beauty profile that you can fill in after you register with them. 

     This is a 20 ml sized sample. Usually any sample above 5 ml is considered deluxe sized and not usually acquired over the counter out here even if you end up spending a bunch of money. As a lot of us may have experienced the stinginess that SA’s have with respect to doling out samples even when you have spent a generous amount of money. I personally have not gotten deluxe samples from any counter. Clarins is a really good brand when it comes to skincare and a lot of people swear by it. I’m looking forward to trying this out as I have had good experiences with this brand.

     This is 10 ml sized. Very unusual scent to it. I love cherry blossoms and am transported to a dream land when I think about them. Quite happy to get to experience it this way. The sample is generous sized and more than enough to form a decent opinion about it given the nature of the product.

     A 15 ml sized sample which will last me a long time. I tried this out once and you need very little at a time to cover your face. I have tried something from this brand earlier but it was not suited to my skin type and hence didn’t work so well for me. But I want to give this a go and see what results I will get out of it. I don’t have wrinkles but I want to see if it does provide some lifting effect.

     The size of the sample is not mentioned anywhere. It looks quite less but given that it is an exfoliant formulated specifically for the delicate eye area I feel that the given quantity should be more than enough to form a rough opinion about it. It has a very nice scent to it and I’m looking forward to see if it actually helps with milia.

     This is 5 ml of product. I’m keeping this to the side for the days when my skin decides that it wants to be dry again and demands some TLC of me. I tried a little of this on the back of my hand and found that it is not greasy at all and absorbs pretty fast into the skin. My skin was left feeling softer and smoother to touch. The name gives an impression that it will be a rich and heavy thing but it is actually quite light and Im waiting to see how it works on dry skin.

     Apart from the last 2 ones the other brands I have heard of and experienced. Overall I like the box but wish they have a better assortment of stuff in the next one. If it is going to be skincare only then I wont be interested in it too much as I have loads of stuff piled up waiting for my attention. But it is not bad for the first box and I’m very pleased with the brands in it. I will definitely recommend that you try them out at least once. I know I will be booking the next one 🙂 Oh they are supposed to have a special Goa edition box. Its not clear if it is the theme for the next box or a special sampler box thingy. I will mail them and ask about it. So what do you guys think? Ready to order your first My Envy Box yet?
