My Top 5 Black Eyeliners

My Top 5 Black Eyeliners

I think this was the first ever makeup product that I used when I got into makeup in my teens. This used to be the only thing I would wear and slowly started realizing that there are other products out there which began to gradually enter my kit. People always ask me how do I manage to do my eyeliner well and my standard answer is practice! Well I have been using it since I was a teenager and have enough years of experience under my belt 😛  I dont even know how many brands and tubes of products that I have gone through since I started using this. Well today I want to share with you my current top 5 black liners mostly which I have encountered in the last 2-3 years and now they make it to my favorites list. Most of them are easily available in India and the other 2 are international brands which are fairly easy to procure as well. So in no particular order lets take a quick look…

This has been the newest entrant to my arsenal and I will say that it has become my absolute favorite. If you have been around for sometime you will know that I love to create crazy looks and this is a dream when it comes to doing some fine work. The tip is fine, the pigmentation is intense and it does not budge easily. Love love love it! If you want to create some precise eyeliner lines or just want to up your liner game then you need to check this out! Price is $22 (approx Rs. 1483/-) and it is available in 12 colors!

I find myself using this on a daily basis (almost) when I have to step out. True I do have my issues with it especially when I get really sweaty and/or oily and it makes these beautiful black rainbows on my lids 😛 But I love its tip and its intensity. Plus it can be a decent alternative to the one mentioned above. If you are a budget chick then this is for you. Why do I love the Stila one more??? Well not only does it not smudge/budge but there is a fair difference in the tip as well as the product overall. That I feel is more precise…but true since this is more budget friendly I use this more for my daily use and keep the above one for my creative ventures. You can read my detailed review for it here. Price Rs. 361/-

Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner

Ok hear me out…I think this is the best liner that a beginner can have in their kit. Not only is the brush that comes with it brilliant and makes the application process a breeze but this texture is just right for a beginner to handle without the mess or fuss. Once you have mastered the art you can move to the liquids and pens. The only issue I have with it is that it dries up pretty fast in the pan like most gel liners leading to product wastage. But it is both affordable and easily available. Definitely worth having. Price Rs. 424/-

Maybelline Hyper Glossy Liner

Another one of my favorites (well obviously :P)…I love the finished look of it aka glossy black beauty! This comes with a thin brush which is fairly decent and does not move about when you try to draw the liner aka another good alternative for a beginner. This too is easily available, is quite pigmented and unlike the one above does not dry up too fast in the pan/tube plus does not smudge or rub off (as far as I remember). Price Rs. 255/-

Shara Shara I Wanna Cat’s Gel Liner

Ok I will admit that I cheated here a little…coz the color that I have is a really deep navy which looks like a blue tinted black on. This is for about $5.79 (approx Rs. 390/-) and has 5 colors in total. There are 2 kinds of finishes available – Pearl and Regular where there are 2 types of black and brown with a pearl navy which is the one I have. The shade is matte but it has slight shimmer particles in it. I love the brush that comes with it and another factor that bowls me over is that it does not end up drying in the pan like a lot of gel liners do. It looks super pretty on and I feel this is another one of those products which is very beginner friendly.   Oh the brush is actually a part of the cap aka is inside it.

That was a quick roundup of some of my favorites. I wanted to make a top 5 list for you but wanted it to contain stuff that I have actually used/tested rather than picking up some random stuff off Google search. There are plenty more of these where they came from and Im sure a whole lot better than the ones I have stated but these I find the best from most of the types and brands I have used over the years. I would like to make an updated list sometime in the future when I have tried out more of these. Do let me know what do you think of the list and what has your experience been of you have tried stuff from it. I will see you soon…ciao!
