Hello my friends! How is the summer treating ya? Dang it hot in Kolkata….making me miss the Mumbai weather I left behind, humidity and all. Today I present my first Dior lipstick. Back in ’11 when I did the tut on wearing a red lip (which you can check out HERE) a reader left this product name as a suggestion. I finally picked it up as I wanted to see how it works out for me.
Breaking it down, the packing is two toned ie black and deep blue with geometric pattern on it and silver band and detailing on it. There was “diamond” phone that was launched a few years back, forgetting the brand, which had this funky edges to it. This packing is sort of similar with the lines and edges on it. The product has a smell to it and I cant put my finger on the fragrance. Remember raiding your mom’s drawer and using her lipsticks??? This has that old time “lipstick-y” smell to it. Not strong or anything.
I find the color to be a true red and like that fact that there are no blue tones to it. The pigmentation is intense and the texture (oh mama!) glides on like a dream. Very moisturizing and does not sit heavily on your lips/lines. Even though the texture is creamy the product does not vanish off quickly or completely from your lips. I did the “smooch” test with it where I placed kisses on a tissue paper and even after the 10th one I still had a light cherry like shade on my lips making it look like a stain. The only problem was that the color was darker in my lines but a quick run of the finger smoothed it out. So you don’t need to keep retouching it as often I think.
I forgot how much I paid for this thing but I googled the price and found it to be in the range of Rs. 2000/- to 2500/-. Classy packing and a pretty shade. I glad that I picked this one up and finally have a Dior lippy in my collection. The texture has blown me away.
