I got my 1st box of Blisscovered! Yea! I heard a lot of people talking about this new form of service being offered in India and I was intrigued. I have always been apprehensive in buying high end skin care products as even though the brand might be good and I might have heard some great reviews about the product but when I try it out for myself after spending all that moolah it turns out that the product does not suit my skin (Aargh!). Don’t get me wrong – I have no issues spending big bucks for a product that works on me but I’m not inclined to end up wasting my money “testing” out these high end products to find my right fit. And lets face it the SA’s don’t really dish out “free” samples for you to try out unless you have already dished out the big bucks (whats the point of keeping samples if you don’t try to win in new customers??).

     Any-hoo. Blisscovered is definitely the answer to my prayers and for Rs. 700/- for a month (Rs 1900/- for 3 months) I think that its a pretty good deal. Lets face it an average price that you would have to dish out for a product to lay your hands on some samples for one brand would be around 2500-3000 bucks. But here I’m paying 700 and getting stuff from 4-5 different companies. Not bad!

     Some of the brands offered by them are:

     I loved the packing that they provided – so elegant and classy. There were so many layers to it which goes to show the amount to effort and attention to detail they put into the concept. The choice of color was refreshing – Lavender rather than the obvious pink. The personalized letter and the list of products were quite unexpected and much appreciated 🙂 . They provided a full sized product valued at Rs. 250/- plus a gift coupon of Rs. 300/- off the next full sized product purchase off their website. I got 2 skin care products (Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate and YSL Top Secrets Natural Action Exfoliator), a hair product (Forest Essentials Bhrami Hair Oil), a perfume (Diesel Loverdose) and a lip care product (Omved Mint Lip Balm – full sized).

     I have smelled a perfume which was exactly the same as Loverdose. I cant recall which one was it. It is a good fragrance for people who like spicy tones (I like it) but for me I give it a pass as I have smelt something exactly like it and I like to wear unique smelling perfumes. The lip balm was decent. I don’t suffer from chapped lips just a bit of dryness now and then. I felt that it gave a light coverage when I applied it and I didn’t really feel heavily moisturized (think Vaseline lip balm) so was skeptic about it. But now as I sit here writing this post some 60 mins or so after applying it I realized that my lips are not feeling that pull of dryness anymore but are feeling normal in condition (read non dry). I’m not sure about how effective it will be for people with really chapped lips. 

     Well Lancome and Forest Essentials products need some vigilant testing over a time period before I can comment over them. But I really like the YSL product. I did a half face test and when I looked into the mirror after removing the product the first thing my eyes where drawn to was the treated half of my face. It had a nice glow about it. My skin smooth and clear and the pore size was significantly diminished. This is not your run-of-the-mill exfoliator with granules in it (does not contain any!). It is a gel which on applying to your skin and massaging with your fingers (needs the warmth) turns into a light oil base. This is then dampened a little so that it changes to an emulsion and is then massaged again and washed off. A few minutes to get glowing fresh skin! This is a definite must buy for me 🙂

     Loved my experience of the 1st box and am quite tempted to continue with the service.
