blogger card
A blogger card is your calling card of sorts….a virtual visiting card. It is meant to contain all the social links that you are present on along with some basic preferences/facts about you given your genre of blogging. This can be used to approach public relation managers along with some statistics of your blog to build a long term working relationship with them. I have used a very simple method to create one using an online photo editing software. Even someone who feels themselves to be technically challenged can use this tut to make a card.

Remember that it is your visiting card so keep it clean and professional and the concentration on your social links. I have seen some people make it into a modelling card and some don’t give their own image. It is your personal choice to not do so but think if you would ever talk to or approach or even give the time of the day to a profile which does not have a picture to it…..a face lends a credibility of sorts and it is basic human nature to lend an amount of trust to something we can see like a person rather than an obscure image. After all blogging is a very personal thing, it is the person rather…his name, his personality, his ideology, his knowledge what causes a reader to place their love and faith in their work. So why not lend that personal touch to your blogger’s card…food for thought?
Tutorial
Step 1 – go to the photo editing site of your choice. You can even use Photoshop if you are comfortable with it. I have used Fotor here.

Step 2 – Use the collage option and select the 3 picture one. I chose the one with the 1 horizontal column and 2 vertical ones.

Step 3 – Resize the area a bit by dragging the dotted lines. Just place your cursor on them and they will change, click on the mouse and drag. The resizing is done so that the horizontal column looks more like a banner and the 2 vertical ones get more space in them to fit the content.

Step 4 – Upload the required pictures. I have used one as a background for the horizontal column but you can use your blog banner too. The second picture is your profile pic. Make sure your profile pic has your watermark on it. You can adjust the spacing and round off the corners to give it a better look.

Step 5 – Now you need to add in the text. For that select the text box and place it in the white space. You may need more than one to fill in all your links. Keep the text color black as it is easier to read and you can be slightly creative with the font. Fill in your blog’s name in the header/horizontal column (if the image does not already have it).

Step 6 – Once you have the text all laid out and are happy with the outcome, you need to save your work. Follow the instructions shown in the following images. Voila! You have successfully made your blogger card 🙂

So that was a quick and easy way to create a blogger’s card. If you have any questions or need clarification on anything don’t hesitate to ask. These online software are pretty straightforward and quite simple to use. Explore a little and you will soon be creating all sorts of designs and artworks for your site. See ya later!
