Sunsilk Keratinology Overnight Treatment – Review

Shikha Says:

What is the one routine or treatment or process (beauty related) that gives you happiness deep down to your bones?  You get a spring in your step and a song in your heart? Makes you feel like THE diva of the day? For me it has to be related to my hair. Any form of pampering from a simple cut to getting it colored or going all the way with a luxurious Kerastase ritual just makes my day. I feel all of 16 again :).

Needless to say any problems with my hair causes me great distress. It does not effect me if I gain weight or have skin trouble. I take it in my stride but with my hair I just cant. Having said that I cant leave it alone either. I just have to have something done to it. I have never been able to figure it out how do people have the patience to just keeping growing their hair and not touch it all. If I do that I get all fidgety from inside and then run to the nearest salon to get something done. Yes I’m aware that I’m weird :p.
In one of these instances I got my hair permed in 2010 end. Since then I have faced a lot of issues with my hair. It being dry and rough one of the concerns. Somehow even the hair that was not permed has not been the same. I have used a few conditioners but I’m still looking for that one product that will make my hair like silk. This product definitely came pretty close.
This was launched as a part of a range a few months back. Since I already had a couple of shampoos and conditioners lying around to use I chose the overnight treatment. 100ml of product costed me around Rs. 400/- which for a drugstore brand is quite a bit. But I was game to try it out.

It comes in an easy to dispense pump bottle which helps you to easily control the amount of product you want to dispense. The product is white in color and a slight floral fragrance to it. The texture has a slight thickness to it but has a non greasy feel to it. I have shown the amount that I use in the pics below. It is enough to saturate my almost mid back length hair.

One thing that I have discovered is that it is important to use it in damp hair. If you use it in dry hair firstly you will end up using a lot of product and your hair will become greasy. Secondly your hair will not feel soft in the morning. If you use it correctly it gives quite good results. I have used this product instead of a conditioner ie washed my hair in night and did not use the conditioner but used this instead and it worked well. My hair feels smooth and soft in the morning and I get the same feeling if I run my fingers through it. Sounds strange that I’m mentioning this but my hair would feel soft when I touched it from top and dry when I ran my fingers through it when I was using Fudge Head Bath. All in all I like this product. Yea!

List of Ingredients:

Warning – This product contains Parabens and Silicones!

Company Claims:

“Recovers up to a month of protein loss in one night. It fills in cracks from damage for salon-like repair.”

Ok I cant verify if their claim that the product covers protein loss is correct or not. But yes it does make damaged hair smooth.

Pros:

  • Does make your hair soft
  • Non greasy texture
  • Pleasant smell
  • Easily available
Cons:
  • Can be pricey for some
  • Contains Parabens and Silicones

Would you purchase it again? – Given its results, yes I would. But the only reason that I probably not might end up buying it in reality is coz I would be busy testing other products 🙂

Would you recommend it to your friend? – Yes I would.

1 month ago by sorellegrapevine Photo 3 - the selfie Is it always about narcissism? What about a healthy dose of self love? A quick lift me up? I once had a teacher who said that on days she is feeling low or things aren't going right she would take extra care in how she looks and steps out... Instant mood revival... Or fake it till you make it to put it simply. So try it next time... If it brings a smile to your face then it's worth it no?

How does one decide? Hope is liberating but sadly it can be the most crippling as well... How one is "too old" for this or that. Let's make it a part of our to-do list this year and try living in the moment. For accepting and doing things as and when they come out way... Who's with me?
