There is nothing more relaxing or liberating as travelling to different places and exploring new things. The regularity of our routines tends to drain us completely with its monotonous nature and for someone like me who hates that it is extremely off putting. In order to recharge myself I need to take a short trip and just let my hair down. But the picture is not so rosy especially when you are a single woman traveler. Navigating a new place especially an unknown one can be a daunting task. Since I don’t want anything to stress me out I prefer hiring cabs especially on the luxury side to keep the experience as pleasant as possible. 

 

     Not only do you get a good and comfortable ride but the chauffeurs are of a different level and treat you well. I don’t mind dishing out the little extra for the convenience that can be derived in the end. Local transport though cheap can end up being a pain. Take my home city Kolkata for example. There will be times where you will refused point blank by the cabs to go to a particular location and getting a cab in the evening that is hopefully travelling in the same route as your destination is a matter of luck and sometimes a prayer and half. Being a local and knowing how the system works and what the charges are one can still manage and save from being swindled but I really feel sorry for the people vising especially the foreigners. 

 

 

     There are even times when the local cabs has no idea of the location and ends up asking you for the direction! I had that happen to me when I was in Mumbai. Imagine being picked from the airport and then the dude asking you how to reach the location! Lol! After much struggle and argument I was finally able to reach my destination that day…what a hassle. Since then I have learnt my lesson and always ensure that I have a good chauffeur and car at my disposal. It may seem something very trivial but these small things add up and contribute to your stress a lot especially when you are alone.
