The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Range
The Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Body Butter and Body Scrub

The Body shop launched their Fuji Green Tea range of products a while back. Couple of us bloggers were sent these Japanese Tea Ceremony themed kits which contained a cup, small kettle, green tea bags, Japanese style hand held fan, the body butter and body scrub from the new range. Honestly it was just so cute of them and so much fun to receive. Earlier they had done something similar with the Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask. I absolutely adore the thought and effort they put into these and for making our experience each time so much fun! Much love to the TBS team 🙂

Getting down to the products…ok sorry to start on a sour note but I just want to put it out there before I proceed with the review. I don’t like green tea smelling products…period! I don’t know if you read my mini reviews on my perfume collection but someone gifted me a green tea perfume sometime back and it is not something that I could get down with. I find the smell sharp and honestly “green tea” is not something that I would like to smell like 😛 Hey it might be your thing and it might work with your body chemistry but its not for me. So I will not say anything more about the smell of the products except maybe that yes it is quite strong and it tends to linger on the skin for quite sometime. Lets look at the products individually now…

I would have to say that TBS body butters are one of my favorites. This one has a slight almost gel like feel to its texture. It gets absorbed into the skin quite fast giving the pack of moisture your skin might need while at the time feeling light on it aka does not leave a film or oiliness. I like to use them after taking a bath coz that’s when the pores are open and the product can be absorbed into the skin properly. I tested it during the winters and single application was good enough to last me the entire day. I usually turn to bath oils during winters but didn’t feel the need for it when I tried this out. Price for 200 ml of product is Rs. 1095/-

The scrub is quite different than the usual cream or dry base that we get. This one is gel based and can be used easily on dry skin too. The scrub particles are quite fine but still be careful while massaging it into the skin. This works equally well on both dry and wet skin just the amount of product you end up using varies. I found that I needed to use more when the skin was wet. Price is Rs. 1295/- for 250 ml of product.     Since the products have a strong smell which tends to linger on your skin these products are perfect for fragrance layering. For those of you that don’t know what that means it is basically using products from the same perfume brand/variant which causes you to build layers of the same smell one over the other thus making it stronger and help it last longer on your skin. I think both the body butter and the scrub have unique textures and I would like to see other fragrance options in the same. Well that wraps up this review. Do let me know if you guys tried these out or are thinking about giving it a go. I will see you later…Ciao!
