Hello people! Today I bring to you a very soft smokey eye look which I feel can be worn in the day. This is the first ever requested tutorial and Im just so happy about it. Rather it is the combination of 2 requests – smokey eye & FOTD. So thank you to the girls who requested for it on the blog’s FB page. And I hope you all like it. I’m actually very surprised that it turned out the way it did. I had a color combination in mind which I felt would create some drama and as you know I’m all about the drama. But in the end the color combination and the stuff I had made this into a beautiful subtle smokey look making it very wearable. Honestly I’m stumped that I could do a look like this. Lets take this step by step.

First lets begin by priming our eyes. Let me just say that I prefer to do my eye makeup first then follow it with the foundation/concealer routine. I find that it is easier to do it this way especially if you have fall out due to the shadows. Your base does not get ruined coz of it. Next we will take a dark brown eye pencil and line our eyes simply (no cat eye here). Once the eye has been lined we will take a smudger brush and gently smudge the drawn line. Now keep in mind to not smudge it too much. We just want to soften the color a tad, blend out the harsh line and spread the liner a little.

Next take a dark matte brown eyeshadow and pat it over the line. Ensure that it does not cover more than half the lid. Next we will take a light brown shimmery shadow and apply it a little over the dark one creating a gradient effect and extend this till our crease. Then we will take a soft peach shimmer shadow and apply it over the crease blending it slightly with the light brown shade.

Take a soft silver shimmer shadow and apply it on the brow bone and blend it towards the two sides. Now line the water line with a brown pencil ( I used the MAC one here) and smudge it a little with the matte brown or shimmer shade just on the outer 1/2 of the eye. Finish it off with loads of mascara. You can finish the look in different ways. Either avoid the black altogether here and let it be how I have shown you.

Or you can add a little more definition by adding a thin black liner. Or if you want more definition then apply black both as a liner and kohl to complete the look. You can get many versions out of it according to what you prefer. A simple easy to do smokey eye look.
