Hello all!! Today I bring probably one of the most talked about, lusted, raved, etc etc. product of recent times – Revlon Just Bitten Lip Stains. I have 5 of them so I decided to do a joint review for them all coz lets face it only the colors are different the remaining goodness is all the same. Honestly I had thought I would pick maybe 2-3 from them but in the end I picked up 6 (one my Di wanted which was the shade Adore). 

     Once you start swatching these babies it becomes very hard to decide which to pick up and which to leave. The collection comprises of 12 shades in total and only 10 were launched in India whereas only 8 were available in Kolkata when I went to pick em up. At present I have the shades – Smitten, Honey, Sweetheart, Lovesick and Rendezvous. Ahh but let me just say that these chubby sticks are deceptive in nature. You know what I’m talking about – the lip swatch is different that the hand swatch (albeit slightly but it looks darker on the lips). 

     The stick is about 4-5 inches tall in the color of the lippy with matching cap and a steel color bottom which can be twisted. The lippy has a strong minty smell and a slight minty taste to it. It actually smells and tastes like Polo come to think of it. Gives a slight tingling sensation for a short while. Quite moisturizing with a smooth texture the colors have a nice sheen to it (no shimmer or glitter at all). Some of the colors are not completely opaque (ie your lip color shows somewhat especially if you have dark lips). Some of the colors actually stain your lips especially the darker ones and they remain like that for sometime which can be a good thing for college/office goers since your lips are not left completely nude between touch ups. That’s that for the main characteristics lets break down the colors now.

Honey:

     This can best be described as an “earthy” pink shade or how I would say a nude brown toned pink color. Probably the most wearable for daily/office wear. If you are not into the richness of the other shades and want something more toned down then this is the one for you.

Sweetheart:

     Another pink shade from the line (what can I say….you know I’m a “pink” girl right). This one is true pink color which looks medium toned on the hand but translates to a darker pink on the lips. A gorgeous shade which I think will look very good paired with a light blush and kohl rimmed eyes.

Lovesick:

     A darker blue toned pink color (honestly I don’t know how else to name it….is it Magenta or Berry??). Not for the faint hearted and definitely not for daily wear. But the color will sure help you stand out in a crowd if that is what you are looking for.

Smitten:

     Probably one of the most talked/blogged about color from this range. A deep reddish pink color this one is definitely a stunner. Great for that gorgeous date look. With a shy smile and a wicked glint in your eye this one will surely hook your guy 😉 Any takers??

Rendezvous:

     Ah a different color at last 😛 A lovely light orange color this one is the one for the season. Orange lips are supposed to be big right now and this gives you a very nice subtle (sort of) way to do so. I saw this international blog and the girl there said that this one was the hottest selling shade as it was sold out everywhere. She said that it was very tough to lay your hands on this color. So if you want to try out the new trend this could prove to be a safer bet for you.

     So those were all the shades…..Honestly I still cant pick which is my fav yet. I love em all coz of their versatility  Great to see another awesome product from Revlon (other being the whipped foundation which I absolutely LOVE) especially after seeing some really disappointing stuff from them recently. I cant believe the same company made that sculpting blush trio that I reviewed a while back or the eyeshadow palette I saw at their counter (horrible chalky colors). I really hope they bring same quality throughout their line.

Amount of Product

Would you purchase Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Stains again? – Honestly not sure just coz these will last me quite sometime and I might just be bored at the end of it. Maybe if I get hooked to a new shade or get complimented on one that I have presently I just might.
