Outfit of the Day

A short while back I was invited to attend the Eastern Round of the Indian Hairdressing Awards presented by L’Oreal Professional. It was an evening attire kinda event and I didn’t know what to throw on. I ransacked my wardrobe like a maniac tossing aside clothes all over like a mad woman. The eternal “I-dont-have-a-thing-to-wear” syndrome plagued me while I sorted through my mountain of clothes. I spied this satin dress that I had bought a few years back on one of my trips and thanked the stars that made me buy it then…hmmm! I know what did…SALE! I picked this one up from Only during their sale period for….not 3k…not 2k….not even 1.5…I got this for around 900 bucks! Can you imagine!?!

Halter neck dress, Only

This was hidden way back on a rack mounted on a wall and I almost missed it. The bright purple flowers immediately caught my attention when I was sorting through. I love the combination of the bright purple on the ice grey-blue background It is is a halter neck dress with ruched bodice made with elastic. So it basically accommodates your size. Heck I was 10 kgs or so lighter when I bought this and it still fits me well even today 😀 Now that is how a dress should be 😉

Lace jacket, Vero Moda

The flowy fabric covers all my problem areas. I teamed it with a lace jacket from VeroModa. It is more like a asymmetrical shrug actually. I bought the necklace from Pipa + Bella sometime back and it is one of my best purchases! The piece is so well made and looks so elegant that it instantly adds glamour to any outfit. One of my most worn pieces. And hey when it comes to glamour it does not get better than these glitter shoes from Steve Madden! I had worn them to the Body Shop event too and you can see that outfit post here.

I so wanted to document the rings that I was wearing as well as my eye makeup. But when I was taking these pics I completely forgot. Handling a DSLR without a remote and a lousy tripod is a pain and a half! Sigh! But I’m learning…and that makes any problems worthwhile. Btw the awards were brilliant and I was completely blown away by the Dream Team performance. I will be putting up a vid for that specifically very soon on my channel. So happy that I got to see such amazing artistry right here in Kolkata! With that I take your leave…do let me know what you think of this look. I will be seeing ya soon! Much love…
