Summers have descended on our heads with a vengeance. It takes quite an effort of will to step out and brave the heat. Given the conditions online shopping comes as a boon. Ah the bliss of shopping from the ease of your own home. There is something to be said for the benefits of having the world at your fingertips.
I came across this site when a fellow blogger mentioned it in relation to Korean products. Ever to try out something new I wasted no time in charting my path through this unknown territory.The site contains some known brands like Benefit, Bobby Brown, MAC, Loreal, etc. and a wide range of Asian brands. Products belonging to categories like skin care, hair care, slimming, hair pieces, skin lightening, health related, etc can be availed from this site. It has a huge selection of products which are a part of their clearance sale. Honestly I was so spoiled for choices that I didn’t know where to begin.
I sought out the category which appeals the most to me (for obvious reasons) and that is slimming. I browsed through the various the teas, pills, potions, creams, gels, etc to find something appealing. I found a product range called 2B Alternative which is ranked as a best seller and had products which were usually the priciest of the lot. They have different products targeting legs, face, arms and belly. I was intrigued by the 2B Alternative for Face. It was priced at 41.70$ (present price is 43.90$). Needless to say that I got the product.
Next I waded through the accessories segment to find something unique. I came across this gun like device to help get rid of blackheads called the NOBLE Black Head Snaper. Priced at 8.40$ (present price is 8.80$) this was another product that I picked.
I placed my order on the 5th of May. Ok now coming to a part I didn’t like. When I placed the order it showed me two shipping options for my location. One was the regular shipping priced around 6$ and another was the expedite option priced at 15$. I selected the lesser price but when I reached the screen before the final payout my shipping option was changed to the 15$ option. I went back and tried again but got the same result. I gave up after trying for a couple of times. I paid a total of 65.10$ which came upto Rs. 3503.94/- for the two products.
I got my package on the 15th of May. And with it came another shock. I had to pay a custom duty of Rs. 579/- for it! It is the first time I had to face such a situation. The site did not mark the package as a sample or gift as most of the other sites did and the true value of the products was mentioned which I guess attracted the customs duty. Got a huge box for two tiny products. The packaging was done quite well.
I’m really keen on trying out the 2B product. I will do a detailed review for it later and will conduct an experiment for it like I did for the NYX Grow Brow Serum. The blackhead remover is totally bogus. Lol 8$ down the drain. It creates a mini vacuum on the skin which supposedly pulls out the blackheads. It failed miserably in that. More over you can only use it on the nose. Using it on the cheeks leaves a red mark on the skin. Maybe dislodges whiteheads but does not do anything for the blackheads.
All in all I’m a little discouraged with the experience. I doubt I will shop here again. The shipping charges and the custom duty are a major bummer. I will try to find an alternative site for the 2B product that is if I get some result out of it. If push comes to shove and I’m not able to buy 2B from anyone else (which I highly doubt) then only will I go back here.
