Kokobox/Kokobites November Box – Unboxing!

I was a total subscription box addict at one point and still give in to the temptation from time to time. I think that I have mentioned this before that the biggest draw for me when it comes to getting one of these is the whole surprise factor. There is just something about the whole anticipation thing…what kind of products will I get my hands on…what surprises are in store for me…that just drives one giddy with excitement (yes I have the mentality of a 5 year old ๐Ÿ˜› ). I recently came across someone posting about a new subscription box from Korea in one of the groups on Facebook that I’m a part off and I decided to take a quick look. They had a couple of options available but what really drew me in was the Kokobites box aka the snack box ๐Ÿ˜€ I have so been wanting to lay my hands on some Korean snacks that this one was a no brainer for me…I actually had my “shut up and take my money” moment ๐Ÿ˜‰

Kokobox snack box goodies for November

Kokobox offers 2 types of boxes – one is a beauty box and other is this snack option. Both boxes again have 2 types available ie two sizes available – the standard box and the jumbo/deluxe box. You get an option to choose a 1, 3 and 6 month subscription plan. The one month plan is a recurring payment one which you can cancel anytime through your account while the 3 and 6 months ones are a one time payment which do not renew on their own. They offer free world wide shipping and the ship the boxes every 7th of the month. Orders close on the last day of the month. I choose the basic Kokobites box for which I paid 19.99$ (approx Rs. 1300/-). They shipped the box to me on the 5th of November and I received it by the 24th. Let’s take a peek into what I had in store for me shall we…

Pepero

 Kokobites November Box Unboxing
N*de and Original Pepero from Lotte

I think this was kind of necessary to kick things off given how popular a snack this is ๐Ÿ™‚ I was sent two different flavors – original and n*de. Thin biscuit sticks coated with chocolate in the former and thin biscuit sticks with chocolate inside in the latter. These were so good and had a pretty decent quantity in each. But I will say absolutely without shame that I finished them in one go ๐Ÿ˜› I kept on poppin them one after the other and before I knew it I was done with one pack. Pepero’s have their own special day in Japan where they are exchanged as friendship and valentine gifts. Definitely worth getting your hands on. They come in a lot of flavors and some even come co-branded with famous celebrities especially K-pop idols/groups (case in point Exo trio pack).

Lotte Moncher Kakao

Lotte Moncher Kakao

This is exactly like chocopie (well they both belong to the same company ie is Lotte) but some how I like this one a whole lot better especially coz of the chocolate used. This was quite nice and wasn’t overly sweet. Choco lovers should try this out.

Look at that gooey goodness ๐Ÿ˜€

Custard Raspberry Yogurt

 Kokobites November Box Unboxing
Custard Raspberry Yogurt filled inside a sponge cake

This was actually a sponge cake with a raspberry flavored custard inside. This was so soft! The cake part was quite thick with a bit of the custard in the center. This was quite sweet…and this coming from a person who has a sweet tooth. It would have been nicer if the sweetness on the cake would be tuned down a bit then the combination would have balanced things out. I wish I could only get the sponge cake part of it coz I liked that! Overall I would say that it can be passed on.

Just the cake part was really nice…super soft!

Crown Chamssal

 Kokobites November Box Unboxing
Crown Chamssal – Korean Rice Cracker

These are Korean rice crackers. They have a texture which is some what in between a biscuit and a chip/crisp. There are 2 pieces in one small pack that you can see in the pic. These are pretty neat too. They have a blend of a slight sweet and salty taste which sort of reminds me of these ring shaped snacks that you would get in a red pack. For the life of me I cant remember its name but it used to be one of my favorite things when I was young. These are not as spicy or herb-y but quite nice to munch on when the hunger pangs get to you. Again something that I would like to buy more of.

Yegam

Yegam – Honey-Milk Potato Chips

Ok hold on while I spell it out for you…Honey -milk flavored potato chips. Yes you read that right ๐Ÿ˜€ This was the funkiest thing in the box for me! As strange as this combination might sound this was actually quite good. The combination sounds weird but it works somehow. Trust me it does ๐Ÿ˜› The slight saltiness on your tongue and with the mild aftertaste of honey…you wont be able to stop on one. I’m not kidding you! Definitely worth trying out. My mum wants me to buy her a big bag of em ๐Ÿ˜€

Crown Mychew

Crown Mychew

I got this in apple flavor and not grape as mentioned in the card (thank god). This one might take some time to wrap your head around coz it feels very bubble gum like to chew but when your muscle memory is trying to blow a bubble it fails you ๐Ÿ˜› Ok I needed that silly moment. But on a serious note this has a slight sourness to it. Overall I liked it and found it to be quite interesting.

Though this had me confused but somehow I liked it too…dont ask ๐Ÿ˜›

They added in some additional mini milk candies in the box. My biggest apprehension was getting a box filled with non vegetarian food items which I would not be able to try out. But I got a nice mix of sweet and savory stuff. It might seem a little steep to pay so much for snacks but given the quantity aka pieces I had in total as well as the fact that I could get my hands on Korean snacks which I don’t have access to usually or will have difficulty acquiring, getting this box made me a happy bunny! I’m seriously considering getting the 3 month subscription next. So what do you think of it? Will you be trying this one out? Or would you rather opt for the beauty one? Waiting to hear your thoughts…See ya!
