L-R: Silver, Copper, Gold and Grey. Dry swatch on bare skin. Taken in sunlight
Ok let me just say that by itself and in the category it belongs to it is decent in pigmentation. I tried it on bare skin, with primer and applying with wet brush. All 3 gave different levels of pigmentation with the wet one being the most pigmented. It was also the most shimmery. So if you want to pop the color and add to the drama aka an evening look use a wet brush to apply the shadows. They go on a little patchy like that but by continuous blending smooth out and look quite good.

If you want to opt for a softer look use them dry over a primer. The colors are quite toned down and the shimmer is not so prominent. It is there and you can make it out but it is not popping. On bare skin the pigmentation is not good at all and on the eye it becomes difficult to differentiate between the shades.
Ok lets just sum up the good of it. Decent packing and applicator. Good pigmentation when used wet. Decent when used over primer. Medium fallout. Drugstore brand (technically). 4 shades available for the price Rs. 770/- (approx Rs. 193/- each). Affordable for most. Decent quality considering the price. Good combination of colors present.
Applied them on UD primer potion using the sponge applicator to pack in the color. Again please excuse the light.
Now having said that I want to come to my issues with it. Being a blogger I have experienced a number of products present both locally and abroad. Paid all sorts of prices for all kinds of products. I cant help but draw some comparisons and look at the short comings as well. Sorry but what is the point of writing a review for you if I don’t show you both sides of the coin? First, they have couple other shades in this range where the color gradient inside the pans moves from the lightest to the darkest shade. In this one that is not so. There is a light shade in the middle. The instructions behind the case are very generic. And for a person who is not experienced (I will assume here that those instructions are meant for such kind of people) if she/he follows what is given they will end up putting the light gold shade on the outside and the brown shade on the inside. In short, don’t follow the instruction pic in the back.

Secondly, the color palette is beautiful and what would have made it complete would have been an addition of a matte shade. I have heard that some of the other palettes do have the darkest shades in matte finish. That same inclusion in this would have made it absolutely perfect. Thirdly, personally I’m not a fan of the pigmentation. I saw a vlogger saying that these “are soooo pigmented” but I would like to differ. Maybe some of the others in this range might be but for this price point I feel that they could have been a little better payoff on bare skin. I’m comparing this to Coastal Scents (price $1.99 = Rs. 110/- approx per shade) right now and they have such intense color plus are cheaper. In the end, people with skills can make anything rock but my concern is for people who are new/still learning. A little tweaking could have made this an excellent product for them as well.
Comparison swatch. I took the most similar shade that I could find with me. The CS one I rubbed in twice to get that color payoff. L’Oreal one was rubbed in 7-8 times to see the color payoff shown. Both done on bare skin.
But hey like I said those were my personal 2 bits about it. Maybe I’m being too critical I don’t know. But in no way am I writing this off. What do you feel? Was I too harsh with it? Or do you as a consumer expect a little better performance? I think a product should work good enough on its on and you should not need a whole lot of ish to make it happen. The additional ish should enhance and take the already good product to an amazing level. Again by no means am I dissing it. If you just look at it on its own then it is pretty good.
Do let me know what you think about it. Have you tried it out? Did you feel that the review was harsh and unjust? Or is the product acceptable at the drugstore level? BTW do like the little touches on the pics? Or should I go back to my old format with them? Waiting to hear your views on it. Sorry for the long review but I just had to make my peace with it. See you around – Bye!
