Mac Divine Night

Hello my pretties! MAC is about to launch its holiday collection in India soon. This is a huge collection and has 3 parts to it – Divine Night, Stroke of Midnight and Nocturnals. I got lucky by chance and was able to score some pieces from it and as luck would have it these pieces became my last haul of 2013. I had no intention of picking anything from it as I have been waiting to get my hands on the Dior holiday collection but once I swatched some of these I was swept off my feet!

There I was minding my own business and roaming in this beautiful new mall called Quest. It is such a joy to see some of the real good brands finally setting up shop out here. Now I would not have to get cart loads of stuff from Mumbai 😛 Oh well I will still be getting cart loads as I will find something else to fascinate me there (hmm still no sign of a Chanel or Guerlain here….). Crabtree, Khiels, Parcos, etc are going to throw their doors open any day now. Now all I need is a Zara 🙂

Mac Divine Night

So I was roaming all over waiting for my friend to arrive that I decided to take a peek in the MAC store to see what was new. I was under the impression that this particular collection had launched sometime back and I was sure that I would not spot anything from it. But surprisingly things were not out and with a little persuasion I was able to convince the lovely SA to show me the collection. My my my!

Mac Divine Night Dazzleglass Private Party

With each carton that was opened my heart skipped a beat! What beautiful colors and what a range of them….from rich dark shades to some really pale ones. I really wanted to pick a lippy especially as their packing is a stunner (black tube topped with gold detailing) but the colors were not to my liking. 3 nude shades, a red and a purplish one. I choose a lipgloss (Rs. 1650/-) instead in the shade Private Party (apparently the lipstick equivalent shade of this is the most sought after piece in this collection).

Mac Divine Night Fluidline

Then came the fluidlines (oh mama!). There are 3 shades in the collection and I got 2 of em – Macroviolet and Stares & Speculation (Rs. 1200/- each). I found both these colors quite unique in their own way. Especially the stares ones which looks like a taupe/grey shade to me but MAC calls it a “dirty olive”. Macroviolet looks like a rich aubergine shade and is apparently a part of their permanent line. I picked a kohl pencil called Mystery out of the four from the collection. I already have feline which I got in one of their recent repromotes.

And lastly I picked this stunner set of pigments (Rs. 2400/-) from the Nocturnals range containing shades of pinks and purples. There were 3 sets and I found these to be the most wearable somehow. There are 5 shades in each set which compliment each other. Apart from the pigments I spotted the lip tints kit and sadly the gloss sets were missing. But the bag sets from the Stoke of Midnight collection were present. It is remarkable to see that so many pieces of the collection have made their way here. I guess those are the advantages of having a posher store.

I will be reviewing all the products shortly and hence did not put up any swatches here. But I do have some pics of them on my Instagram profile so you can check them there in the meanwhile. So loving the black and gold combo that I will be storing some of the outer packing. I have a soft spot for this combo as this was my theme when I was doing my chocolate making business 🙂 Sigh! I miss that phase. Any-hoo, back soon with the detailed posts. See ya later!
