When I first heard about this monthly jewelry box system from Dolon of Pout Pretty I screeched with joy :D. Such a fab idea don’t you think? For a certain amount of money you can get 3 pieces of jewelry delivered at your doorstep. So with the workings of Velvette box in my mind I decided to look it up. 

 

 

     You are supposed to take a quiz which will help to determine your style profile. Basically there are 4 styles – Classic, Boho, Casual and Glam. At the end of the quiz you can see which 3 pieces you will get in the box. And if for some reason you don’t like the contents of the box you can choose any of the others. I really like the flexibility it offers but somewhere it even takes away the excitement of “discovering” what you got in your box. 

 

 

     They say that the total value of the box is about Rs. 2000/- (ie if you add up the individual price of each piece you will arrive at this figure) but the subscription costs you about Rs. 1000/-. The box gets delivered to you in the middle of the month after you place your order. What I mean by that is the May box was delivered to me mid-June. I don’t know why but that is how they work.

 

 

     In the May box I got 2 neck pieces and 1 pair of earrings. I got a statement necklace with black and transparent crystals arranged in asymmetrical design. Got an orange stone (basically made of plastic) set in light gold colored metal necklace. And lastly, got a light gold metal danglers. 2 out of the 3 pieces have decent quality. The orange one is of the lightest quality and I don’t like how it looks. Looks and feels quite cheap. But the other pieces are nice. 

 

 

     I don’t remember how much each piece cost individually. They say that the box is worth Rs. 2000/- but honestly given the quality of the products the box is not really worth Rs. 1000/-. The orange one is very flimsy and really not worth considering and if I look at just the remaining two pieces then their total should be less than 1000 to make it worthwhile. 

 

     I really like their idea and will be monitoring their offerings monthly. Their June subscription is up now and if you are interested in getting one for yourself click this link HERE.
