Tarte Cosmetics Haul
Tarte recently launched a new collection called the Rainforest of the Sea which I believe is limited edition. A lot of the stuff I picked up is from this collection. The purple, blue and gold packing is so gorgeous and royal looking 🙂 I found that most of the creamy products are quite sensitive to our hot temperature so it would be better if you store the lipsticks and other cream products in the fridge to prevent them from melting or breaking.
Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Wipeout Color Correcting Palette ($45)
This is a 6 shade cream color correcting palette which takes care of contouring, highlighting and correcting discolorations. There is orange which counteracts darkness, green neutralizes redness, warmth sculpts, contours and defines, peach 1 camouflages light to medium skin tones, peach 2 camouflages medium to deep skin tones and yellow highlights and brightens. This one kit is all that one needs! I have been using it for my looks recently and still getting the hang of it.
Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Double Ended Foundation Brush ($34) & Double Ended Lip Brush ($24)
This is another one of the pieces that I have been using since I got it and I love it! The foundation brush is so beautifully dense and soft. It helps to buff out the foundation into a smooth looking finish and the other end helps to blend out the contour cream. Plus the wand part of it is so gorgeous! This one I will recommend that you try out for yourself. The lip brush is quite good too where one end has a cap and the other side is retractable. Both the brushes are of extremely good quality and are cruelty free.
Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Marine Boosting 4-in-1 Mist ($25)
This is supposed to be a primer, makeup setting spray, hydrating mist and skin refresher all rolled into one. Something in the lines of MAC Fix+. Well I’m still using my Fix+ but as soon as that is over I will be using this. Really want to see if this can match upto or maybe even surpass Fix+.
Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea So Fine Micro Liner ($22)
True to its name this is a super fine liner pen. The color is really dark. I still have to use it properly so I will not comment further on it for now. But I will say that it is better to opt for such a fine tip only if you are comfortable with applying a liner. If you are a novice then it is best to use something slightly thicker for a whole lot less headache.
Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Drink H2O Hydrating Boost ($39)
I really wanted to try out some skincare from the brand too. I love the smell of it…smells almost masculine is some manner to me…something I have smelled before. This is a gel texture which spreads easily covering a large area aka you dont need a lot of it in a go. Still need to use this properly.
Tarte Rainforest Of The Sea Aquacealer Concealer Light ($26)
Ok I realized I made a huge mistake while picking out the colors of both the foundation and concealer. The products dont oxidize so it is pretty pale for my skin. I was thinking of getting The Body Shop darkening drops and then trying these out. Hopefully it works out then.
Tarte Empowered Hybrid Gel Foundation Light-Medium Honey ($39)
Sigh! Honestly I’m never buying foundation or concealer online from now on 🙁 Kicking myself for my dumbness! Ok I will admit that I was probably reaching with the concealer color choice but this one I thought I had gotten right…but it is way too pale for me. Maybe medium honey might have been a better choice 😛
Tarte Tarteist Mascara ($23)
I love mascaras and cant get enough! I go through a lot of them especially since this is one product that I cant do without at all…not only that I like to layer my mascaras to create a dramatic effect. Still trying to find something that can replace the Loreal Million Lashes one…hopefully this can do the job…fingers crossed!
Tarte The Eye Architect Brown/Champagne ($24)
I found this very interesting. The color combination is quite pretty and you can create so many types of looks ie whether you want to go more natural or even pump up the drama with just this one product. And how classy is the gold packing!
I picked 5 lipsticks from the brand…2 types ie Drench and Quench from the Rainforest of the Sea collection and the Lip Sculptor from the regular line. Drench lipsticks are for $22 each, Quench is for $19 and Lip Sculptor is for $24. Quench is quite light as it is more of a tinted balm. Drench lipsticks are quite pigmented but they tend to melt in the heat 🙁 My favorite is the lip sculptor coz it just looks super gorgeous on!
Well that’s it for my haul. I wanted to get a nice mix of products going and am quite happy with most of the stuff. Now I need to use them properly and put up reviews for you to justify this momentary insanity I went through 😀 But jokes apart…do let me know what you think of my haul. Is there something that caught your eye? Waiting to hear from you…See ya soon!
