All you people who are averse to glitter/shimmer stop reading right now and exit stage right. You honestly are clueless about the finer and glamorous things in life. But all you other divas who know how to rock your bling gather around and let me reveal to you the new kid on the block meant to add that razzle-dazzle to your look. Bourjois 1 second nail paint in Rainbow Apparition is a promise in a bottle. A promise to be glitzy, to be bling and oh so fab! And baby does it deliver on all counts!!! Let’s break it down…
Packing
The bottle is around 3 inches approx. The cap is elongated with a depression in the middle making it easier to hold onto for application. 1/3rd of the bottle is made of glass while the cap is made of plastic. The brush is larger and flatter than the regular nail polish ones but it is quite soft. I usually have a problem with these large ones as a) they are usually difficult to maneuver and b) especially with glitter nail paints the brush tends to lift the product from the areas it overlaps. But this particular brush does not do either and is actually very easy and nice to use. The bottle contains 9 ml of product.
Texture
They call it the gel texture and though I could make out that it feels different but what specifically makes it gel-like has eluded me. There is a light purple tint to the base color which is mainly transparent. Do your know what is better than glitter? It is holographic glitter! Yes this nail paint is full of eye catching holo glitter which turns into a myriad of colors when it catches the light. Very unique! And even though there is such a huge amount of glitter in it the paint does not feel gritty to touch.

What Bourjois means when it labels this as 1 Second is that it is so easy to apply that you will done with a salon quality finish in a second. They are not kidding and though you will need 2 coats to get a proper opaque look the application of 1 coat can be covered in a second. Next the company says that the paint will dry within 50 seconds and yes it is true that it dries and sets very fast. For an impatient person like me that is a big plus.

You will be thinking that ‘I’m sure that it does not last at all. Probably is chipping within a day max if I’m lucky or usually within a few hours of application. Must definitely be high maintenance!” Unh – wrong! It lasted 5 whole days before I got visible chipping. Can you believe that? So gorgeous yet so down-to-earth 😀 Sally Hansen Gem crush chips within minutes and is so gritty to touch that it even gets caught in your clothes at times. Oh but you need to you the Nail Foil Method to remove Bourjois.
So that was my love affair with Bourjois 1 Second nail paint in Rainbow Apparition. A chance glimpse across a room or in this case on a counter can change your life so suddenly and beautifully. Glamour without the chip on the shoulder now that is what I call a complete package!
