Kylie Cosmetics Lip Kit Kourt K Review, Swatch and Price
The internet has literally been taken by storm since the Kylie Lip Kits were dropped. I cant tell you how many comments I have read on Instagram bemoaning the fact that they didn’t get their hands on one or it was sold out before they could add it to the cart. There are articles upon article giving you tips on how to score yourself one of the kits during the next restock! Well truth be told I really wanted to see what the hype was about and when I spotted someone wearing this particular gorgeous color I knew that I had to have one for myself. And that is coming from someone who does not wear wine or berry shades at all! So I got my pointers down, followed the respective Instagram accounts to know about the next update and waited at the fated minute…Well a couple of quick refreshes later and some fast finger action landed me one of these kits in my chosen color 😀 I didn’t have half a chance to even think about getting any of the reds as they were sold out in milliseconds 🙁
Well the kit arrived relatively fast which was unexpected…I think I got my order within 10 days of placing it. The outer packing aka the postal box mimics the dripping liquid design of the main packing. I love how the carton has been designed…very edgy! Inside the box you will find the matte liquid lipstick and matching lip liner. Both have standard packing for their category and the lipstick comes with a doe foot applicator. There has been a lot of controversy going around with regard to the lip gloss applicator which the brand is working on presently but thankfully these were well thought off. The lip liner does not come in the twist up format but needs to be sharpened. It is quite smooth and glides on easily. There is talk off Kylie launching the liners just by themselves. The lipstick is opaque when wet and applies easily. Once it dries to a matte finish it sets in place but for some reason has a patchy finish.
If you look closely (though no one will actually look at your lips so closely or critically) you can make out the light and dark areas. I found that if you use the lip liner as a base then you can combat this issue…on its own it does not set evenly but you can always say that you are trying the ombre trend 😀 Ok this is super drying! I have dry lips and make no bones about how Im not a matte lover but I do have other matte lipsticks in stock. I was first excusing the drying factor thinking that I was the one at fault but then I experimented with it where I applied it over a layer of Nivea Lip Butter (if you have used it you know that it is thick and moisturizing) and still my lips felt dry! If you apply it over the lip liner the dryness is cut down just a tad than when you apply it over bare lips. I have heard that the metal matte range have an improved formulation aka it is not as drying. I am looking forward to trying that out next.
