Maybelline The Colossal Liner in Black, Price – Rs. 425/-
Maybelline has bought in a lot of new products in this past year, their recent launch being the Rebel Bouquet collection, and some of them have not only been very affordable but have just nailed it in the performance department. Recently they made some new additions to their very popular Colossal family. Today I will be reviewing the Colossal Liner in Black which is a felt tip liner pen. I really like this type of format as it makes the application process a whole lot easier and gives you more control on the kind of thickness that you want for your liner.

Remember the thin brush liner of the days gone by? You really needed constant practice to achieve mastery over that brush. I would never be able to draw a thin line with it and in my attempts to even the line out I would end up with a thickly lined eyes. Cut to the present the thick line has sort of become my companion and something which I tend to draw unconsciously all thanks to the muscle memory that I have built up over the years 😀 But these felt tip liners make the job so much easier and even people like me can finally master the thin line.
The tip is fine enough for you to even try your hand at graphic liners. And the best part is that it stays in one position while you are pulling the pen and prevents wonky lines due to shaking of your hand. It might sound strange for me to point out a characteristic like that but I have had trouble in the past with another liner pen whose tip would just turn at the slightest pretext and leave me battling with the whole process. The cap of the pen locks in place with a click thus preventing it from opening and making it easier to carry around. The color is deep black and one swipe is all you need. Whether it it cat eyes, kitten flicks, puppy flicks or leopard spots you can now try out all these trends all thanks to the ease that this liner pen offers.
Now coming to a part I had trouble with…this is not water proof. I tend to sweat a lot and on top of that I have oily lids. Combination of the two has lead to some makeup disasters for me when it came to this product. There have been times where I rubbed my eyes unknowingly and this has spread all over given me panda eyes (other liners do smudge but most tend to rub off rather than spread on a large area). This other time I was to take pictures for a look and I found that the liner had created a black semi-circle on my crease 🙁 this was after I had allowed it to set (I was sweating it out though). If you don’t face similar problems like me then it should be good for you coz my friend told me that it lasted the entire day for her (she usually has dry skin). On a further note when I applied it on top of a shadow then it did stay put for me and was hard to smudge off.
Priced at Rs. 425/- which is a competitive price for it given its product category. The Colossal Kajal is a a hands down favorite of many and has reached an almost cult status. I would have really liked this liner if it would have been water resistant atleast. I’m sure it would have been my go to liner then. I would like to hear from you guys if this works for you and whether it lasts the day. This product was sent to me by the PR of the company for review. Well that’s a wrap from me. I will catch you soon – Take Care!
