Sun is shining, the weather is sweet now
Make you want to move your dancing feet
I was feeling extremely low since the last few days for no reason whatsoever. Nothing was wrong yet everything was…I was literally “under the weather”! My melancholic mood made me dislike everything around and was sapping what little energy I have. But enough was enough and I had to just pull out of this slump! I don’t like to mope about feeling “victimized”…in fact I despise it and people who have that attitude. There is nothing in this world that cant be dealt with or turned around… I remember one of my college professors saying that when we ladies feel good we dress up…and when we feel bad we should dress up even more so that it helps us come out of the funk and feel good about ourselves. Wiser words were never spoken 😀
So I pulled out my makeup and created some looks and then when that was not enough I dug into my nail art stuff and when I spotted the neon beads wheel there I totally lit up! Just perfect to brighten a dark day and it don’t get any brighter than that. Maybelline Color Show N*de Skin is one of the latest entrants to my polishes collection and I just had to do something with it. I don’t use a n*de polish usually but ever since I saw the gorgeous designs done with it in nail art back in Singapore I have gotten fixated on this shade.
I had a very angular design in mind when I started where I wanted the pattern to cut the nail in a sharp diagonal. But I like how the final outcome has a fan like soft rounded look to it. To recreate this look you will need – a n*de nail paint, neon flat base beads/stones, a dotting tool or pointed forceps and a top cost (I used Seche Vita). Paint all your nails and apply a double coat on them barring the nails you want to accent/do the pattern on. Then lay out the beads on the work surface and if you are using the dotting tool then put a drop if water on the table. You can wet the tip of the tool with this and this will help to lift the bead easily and put it on the nail. If you are using forceps then it is not required.
Start by placing one bead at a time starting from the inner corner of the nail. Put the next bead just above it in a diagonal line. Press down each bead a little after you place it to ensure it adheres properly. Place the next bead just beside the 1st one and form a diagonal line on top of the one you made. Try to put the beads in the gap created by the first layout. Press them together to form a tighter line. Continue in this manner till you get the desired pattern. The amount of beads placed and lines made will depend on the length and breadth of your nail. Once you are done just tap on all the beads once more and then apply a thick layer of the top coat ensuring it fills the gaps between the beads and covers everything properly. Move on to the next nail and repeat the process.
The beads wheel and the rings I’m wearing on my knuckles are from Born Pretty Store. Seche Vita is an excellent top coat! It is thicker than most and it just smooths out any imperfections on the nail giving it a beautiful look and shine. I’m hoping that my beads stay put longer coz of it and don’t abandon ship at the slightest excuse. I like how striking the final look is and how it draws one’s eyes. I have a soft spot for all that I create 😀 So I want to hear what you think of the look. Is it something you would wear? Should I create a tutorial vid or photo post for you for it. Waiting to hear from you. I will see ya soon!
